The Ministry of Visitation at Hawley UMC

Almost daily the people of God's church have encounters with people struggling to cope with the challenges and stresses of life.  As a result, we at the Hawley United Methodist Church are keenly aware that there are a multitude of hurting persons in our church and community yet we are also aware that no one person is able to begin to meet these needs alone.

This reality, coupled with our belief in and commitment to the ministry of the laity, has led us to form a ministry of visitation that is made up of concerned and loving laity who wish to respond to and initiate encounters with fellow congregants, friends, neighbors, and acquaintances as an expression of God’s love in the world.  Each of these members are dedicated to be in direct contact with persons who are hurting by offering a listening ear, a helping hand, good counsel, and a ministry of referral to those in need.
